Sogetsu Ikebana
Christmas Season New Arrival
A dry flower bouquet for any Christmas Products
Sogetsu is a modern, avant-garde school of ikebana that emphasizes individual creativity and self-expression, founded in 1927 by Sofu Teshigahara. Its creed is "anytime, anywhere, by anyone, with any materials," encouraging the use of unconventional materials to create art. Unlike traditional schools, Sogetsu focuses on beauty of line, negative space, and the unique personality of the arranger, making it a global, contemporary art form.

Attraction to Sogetsu
Unlike traditional schools of ikebana that emphasize strict rules, Sogetsu encourages individual creativity. Its motto “Anytime, anywhere, by anyone” reflects the idea that arrangements can be made with any materials, in any space, and by anyone.
Practicing Sogetsu ikebana involves observing plant materials carefully and then reimagining them in new contexts. It’s not about reproducing natural beauty but about transforming it into something transcendent, giving flowers and branches a new identity.
It is a Dialogue Between Nature and Human Creativity. It allows us to express our own personality and emotions through floral art. Flowers in Sogetsu are not just decorative—they become a medium for human expression, almost “humanized” in the arrangement.
