Flower Care
We recommend keeping flowers fresh by using a clean vase, trimming stems regularly, changing water often, and removing leaves below the waterline. These simple steps can extend the life of your bouquet significantly.
Essential Flower Care Tips from Florists
1. Preparing the Vase
- Clean thoroughly: Wash the vase with soap and water before use to reduce bacteria.- Sterilized containers are best, as dirty vases can shorten flower life.
2. Water & Flower Food
- Room-temperature water is ideal; fill the vase about two-thirds full.- Add the flower food sachet provided with bouquets to supply nutrients and extend freshness.- Change water every 2–3 days to keep it clear and bacteria-free.
3.Trimming Stems
- Cut 2–3 cm off each stem at an angle before placing in water.
- Repeat trimming every few days to improve water absorption.
- Remove any browning ends to keep blooms hydrated.
4. Handling the Bouquet
- Unwrap gently: Avoid damaging petals and stems when removing packaging.- Remove water tubes or cotton carefully to prevent stress on stems.
5. Leaf Management
-Strip away leaves below the waterline; submerged leaves rot quickly and encourage bacteria.
6.Placement & Environment
- Keep flowers in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight, heaters, or drafts.- Avoid placing near ripening fruit, which releases ethylene gas that accelerates wilting.
